On the coast at Kentallen, on Loch Linnhe, western Scotland, a kentallenite boss has been intruded by spessartitic lamprophyre and these are in turn intruded by granite. The sequence agrees with that observed elsewhere in the region. On the basis of field evidence, such as rimmed crystals and the close association of kentallenite, appinite, and lamprophyre, it is suggested that the time interval preceding the granite intrusion was much longer than that between intrusion of the kentallenite and the lamprophyre.
