A section of about 17 feet of sandstone and limestone in Laig gorge on the Isle of Eigg, off the west coast of Scotland, overlies the Great Estuarine series and has previously been referred to the upper Oxfordian (Jurassic). It is now shown, by study of the foraminifers, to be upper Cretaceous. Data on the phosphatic pebbles, heavy minerals, deposition, and derivation are given, and a report on the foraminifers, by C. G. Adams, is appended.
