An ignimbrite is described which is considered intrusive into the basaltic agglomerate of the Kilchrist vent, southwest of Broadford, Skye, western Scotland. The ignimbrite varies from light gray or buff to mauve in color, with dark streaks, shows flow structure, with unsorted xenoliths oriented parallel to it, and is composed of microperthitic potash feldspar and quartz crystals in a devitrified glass matrix. The occurrence, petrology, and origin of the flow structure are described in detail.
