On the basis of collections made from Bathonian (Jurassic) strata in Dorsetshire, England, it is shown that Lagenidae is the most important family in a rich foraminiferal fauna, which is not yet fully known because of incomplete exposures. Four faunules have been distinguished, but a formal sequence cannot yet be set up because of lack of sufficient data. In comparison with the Dogger fauna of northwest Germany, it is noted that a number of species in the English beds appear to range higher, but the reasons are unknown at the present time. Detailed species descriptions are in press.
