The two ring structures composed mainly of syenite with carbonate cores, observed in the upper Sabi valley, Southern Rhodesia, contain rocks ranging from acid to ultrabasic and from extremely alkaline to alkali-free types. Their possible age and origin are discussed. In the discussion, by F. Dixey, closely comparable structures in southern Nyasaland, Angola, South-West Africa, and Uganda are noted.
