The supply of water for the Gentilly III nuclear station necessitated a considerable flow that only the river can supply. The water quality and suspended sediments will be responsible in part for the corrosion of pipes. A hydro-sedimentologic study has been undertaken to verify the volume and time evolution of a water zone of better quality from the Great Lakes which would not yet have been affected by tributaries.
