Section based on Bristol district (Kellaway & Welch, 1993) with palynological markers after Hounslow, Posen & Warrington (2004); Warrington & Whittaker (1984) and Orbell (1973). Note that the characteristic Penarth Group palynomorphs have inceptions in the very uppermost part of the Blue Anchor Formation.
