In spiteof its name, this book is not about geological map-making at all, but is instead a textbook on the interpretation of geological maps. The authors, who have taught undergraduates this subject for many years, have set out to link basic theoretical concepts with practical exercises employing geological maps. The theoretical background is rather brief and occupies only the first quarter of the book, the rest being made up of map-based exercises and their solutions.
