Importance of the "tectonical" model theory

T. J. van der Zee

The essential points of the theory of scale models in the field of experimental tectonics are stated, and a table showing dimensions and ratios of several physical quantities in two dynamically similar bodies is given. Applications of the theory to geology, such as in the elucidation of structures, are mentioned.
