A new structure in the Forest Marble of Oxford

A sedimentary structural feature occurs in the Wychwood limestone beds of the Forest Marble series at Bladon, near Oxford, England. It is characterized by shallow, circular depressions about four millimeters in diameter occurring evenly distributed over the surface of the rock, with corresponding projections on the lower surface of the bed. Possible methods of origin are discussed, but no satisfactory answer has yet been found.
